The second quarter of the ICT4DMZ project started with another milestone!

The project week with joint workshops took place in Maputo from February 4th to 8th. Margarete Grimus, Fritz Grabo and Paul Pöltner made the journey to Mozambique. The first workshop about teaching methods dealt with the subject “Exchange of cooperative teaching methods”. Two main topics were adressed during the project week:

  1. Didactics of teaching and learning with integration of digital media
  2. Use of a learning platform (Moodle) to support learning methods in higher education
Margarete Primus and Fritz Grabo gave presentations on cooperative learning methods, trends in education, e-learning, organising a course and developing content. Each presentation was accompanied by discussions and collaboration activities, for example teamwork presentations.
In order to use Moodle during the workshops and in preparation for a permanent productive use of Moodle, the software was installed and configured on a server.

Achievements

  • The department of Mathematics and Informatics (DMI) now runs Moodle as e-learning platform, which will be used on trial in the upcoming semester.
  • Every participant will receive a certificate of participation upon successful completion of the course.

Being back in Austria, we eagerly await our next workshops in Maputo. Stay tuned for more updates on our activities and achievements!
